Join us on the journey

In 2023, Legacy Australia will commemorate 100 years of support for ADF families who’ve lost the life or health of a loved one in service.

Defence Health is proud to present the Legacy Centenary Torch Relay 2023. This special event will raise awareness of the critical role Legacy has in supporting Defence families. And importantly, it will help ensure the sustainability of Legacy into the future.

Eight Defence Health staff and eight of our members have been selected as Torch Bearers.

Members:

The Relay will begin in Pozieres, France on 23 April 2023, leading up to ANZAC Day. The torch will then travel to Belgium and London, before arriving in Perth in May.

Thousands of volunteers are needed to guide the Torch Bearers around Australia, through 100 official stops and 45 Legacy Clubs, over 175 days.

Legacy Australia is calling for volunteers  to join us on the journey. Volunteer roles include helping with registration and check-ins, walking with torch bearers, driving and general event assistance.

We encourage anyone who wants to support Legacy to put their hand up as a volunteer. Volunteering is a meaningful way to take part in the Torch Relay and to give thanks for the sacrifices of our veterans.
